ONTARIO DIGITAL SERVICES INTERNSHIP
LAB LAUNCH
I was part of the Ontario Digital Service Lab Launch in Communitech, Kitchener. The lab is a space dedicated to user experience design for the government's digital services. The Lab focuses on improving the government's digital offering, which includes changing the Ontario.ca website so it's more user-friendly, and working with other ministries to make it more convenient for the public to interact with the government.

EMPATHY LOUNGE
This is a user testing space - we usually conducted user testing in the empathy lounge. The empathy lounge was designed to be a comfortable space and designed to feel like a living room at anyone's place. It has comfortable furniture and the user was able to sit on a very comfortable couch and were free to do anything they want so the environment was very relaxed, making the user more relaxed for the user interview.
OBSERVATION ROOM
I participated in many user research sessions during my internship at the ODS and it involved me doing different things. Some things I did was assist in transcribing while the user test was going on. I wrote down pain points and insights from the user test and those were all arranged and sorted out after the user test was done in order to understand flaws and areas for improvement for the product /service being tested.
USER NEEDS ACTIVITY
CO POLICY WORKSHOP
My team and I went down to Toronto to meet the rest of the team there and facilitated the CO Policy workshop. I created an activity for user needs that went along with the presentation that was going to happen at the workshop and I facilitated the workshop with the attendees on my table.
